Public Structures - catapults, gates and storage players choose to share
Most EVE Frontier structures are hard to find. A catapult, a Smart Gate or a storage unit only helps other pilots if they know which system it is in and where it goes, and the chain does not say. Public Structures is where owners share that. An owner reveals a structure's location in game, then publishes it on EF-Map with the details the chain cannot carry: where a catapult throws you, a label, a note and a map colour. Anyone can then see it on the star map, free and with no sign-in needed to browse.
Public Structures is a panel on the EF-Map feature rail, live since 7 October 2026. Opening it frames every shared network on the map. Owners publish from the same panel's My structures tab once they sign in.
What is Public Structures?
It is a directory of player-built structures (catapults, gates, storage, turrets, network nodes and others) whose owners chose to make them public. Revealing a structure's location in game puts its system on chain, but that alone never lists it here: a reveal is one click and can be a mis-click. Only the owner, signed in on EF-Map with the wallet that owns the structure, can switch it Public. Each owner's structures are drawn in their own colour, with their current tribe shown beside their name.
How to find a public catapult or gate
- Open the panel. ef-map.com/?panel=public-structures lists one card per owner, then their systems. Search covers systems, destinations, owners and tribes, and type chips filter to catapults, gates, storage and so on.
- Read the map. Every system with a public structure gets a ring in the owner's colour and the structure's icon. Each catapult draws a dashed arc with an arrow to its destination, and a Smart Gate pair draws a line when both gates are public.
- Pick one. Click a system or destination in the list to select that star on the map, or hover a star for a moment to see the public structures there, their destinations and any transponder setting the owner listed.
- Fly there in game. You do not necessarily need a transponder to find a shared structure in game. Owners can still list a transponder setting (My Tribe, or a code to copy), so if one is shown you know what to set should you need it.
What you get
Catapult destinations
The chain cannot say where a catapult throws you, so its owner sets the destination. Arcs show the direction, and a pair of catapults going both ways bows to opposite sides.
One card per owner
Each owner's colour, current tribe and systems in one place. The crosshair frames that owner's whole network beside the panel; the eye hides it on the map.
Smart Gate links
A linked gate pair draws a line between its two systems once both ends are public. Gate destinations come from the chain, not from typing.
Labels, notes and icons
Owners can add a label, a short note (fuel, who to ask) and tag icons such as Hazard, Fuel, Shop or Home, so a glance tells you what each structure is for.
Always current
The tribe shown is the owner's current one, read from chain data, so a tribe change needs no re-save. A structure that is unanchored or changes hands drops off by itself.
Free, both ways
Browsing needs no account and no wallet. Publishing needs only a sign-in with the wallet that owns the structure. There is no subscription.
Share your own structures
- Reveal the location in game. That puts the structure's system on chain. EF-Map picks it up within a few minutes.
- Sign in on EF-Map with the wallet that owns the structure and open Public Structures. A My structures tab appears with every one of your located structures, all private to start with.
- Choose what is public. Switch each structure Public, or use the button that makes all your catapults public at once.
- Add the details. Pick each catapult's destination from the system list. Optionally add a label, a note, tag icons and a transponder setting (My Tribe, or a code of up to 32 characters, as in the game's transponder window), once for every structure or per structure. Pick a map colour.
- Save. Nothing is public until you save, and you can switch any structure back to private at any time.

Frequently asked questions
Where can I find public catapults in EVE Frontier?
EF-Map's Public Structures panel at ef-map.com/?panel=public-structures lists catapults, gates, storage and other structures whose owners chose to share them, with each catapult's destination drawn as an arc on the star map. Browsing is free and needs no sign-in. Only structures their owners published appear there.
Do I need a transponder to use a shared structure?
Not necessarily. You do not need a transponder to find a shared structure in game. Owners can still list a transponder setting, My Tribe or a code, and the panel and hover card show it if they did, so you know what to set should you need it.
How do I share my catapult or gate on EF-Map?
Reveal its location in game, then sign in on EF-Map with the wallet that owns it and open Public Structures. In My structures, switch it Public, pick a catapult's destination, add a label or note if you like, choose a map colour and Save. It is free.
Does revealing a structure's location make it public on EF-Map?
No. Revealing puts its system on chain, but EF-Map lists a structure only after its owner signs in and switches it Public. A structure also drops off by itself when it is unanchored or changes hands.
Why is my structure missing from My structures?
EF-Map can only list structures whose location is known, so reveal it in game first and allow a few minutes for it to be picked up. You also need to be signed in with the wallet that owns it: structures owned by another wallet never show in your list.
Who can see the structures I publish?
Anyone who opens EF-Map. A listing shows your character name, current tribe, colour, the structures you made public and the details you added. Your wallet address is never shown, and structures you leave private are not listed.
