Troubleshooting

Overlay won't start, doesn't render, or the game freezes when you press Start Overlay? Run our diagnostic tool — it performs read-only checks for the usual culprits (helper/game elevation mismatch, conflicting overlays such as Discord, Steam, NVIDIA, RivaTuner or OBS, and antivirus interference) and writes a report you can send to support. Nothing to install:

  1. Have the game and helper running (or run this right after a freeze)
  2. Open PowerShell: press the Windows key, type powershell, press Enter
  3. Copy this command, paste it into the PowerShell window (right-click pastes), press Enter:
    irm https://ef-map.com/ef-helper/diagnose_injection_failure.ps1 | iex
  4. When it finishes, the report opens in Notepad automatically and the file is highlighted in an Explorer window (saved on your Desktop)
  5. Send that file to [email protected] or post it in the EF-Map Discord, with a short description of what happens

Prefer to read it first? Download the script — note that double-clicking a downloaded script is blocked by Windows security policy; the copy-paste command above avoids that.

Also: the browser needs permission to talk to the helper. If asked to allow access to apps on your device, allow it — and if you blocked it in the past the browser won't ask again: click the icon at the left of the address bar, switch Apps on device on, then reload the page.
