EVE Online Map: EO-Map for New Eden

EF-Map, the site you are on, is the map and tool suite for EVE Frontier. It knows nothing about New Eden. If you came looking for a map of EVE Online, the tool you want is EO-Map, the sister project that does the same job for New Eden. This page exists to hand you over.

Both maps are built by the same person out of the same renderer, which is why they look like siblings. They are otherwise entirely separate: separate sites, separate universes, separate data. EF-Map covers EVE Frontier's 24,000+ systems and its stargates, Smart Gates and Catapults. EO-Map covers New Eden's 5,485 rendered solar systems. Neither can answer a question about the other game, so pick the one that matches the game you are playing.

What EO-Map does

EO-Map is a browser map. There is no client to install, no account, and no character login. It draws New Eden the way the universe is actually laid out, in three dimensions, and then puts navigation and situational tools on top of it.

New Eden in true 3D

The complete rendered map, 5,485 solar systems, positioned by EVE's real physical layout rather than a schematic. Regions, constellations and the gate network are all there.

CCP's 2D layout, same renderer

The published schematic map layout that EVE uses for its own in-game 2D map, reachable by an animated 800 ms morph. Same stars, same gates, same camera, one scene.

Route planning

Point-to-point routing across the stargate network, with a route systems list you can read hop by hop.

Jump range and jump planner

Jump range visualisation for what a hull can actually reach, plus a jump planner for putting a longer trip together.

System finder

Search and filter New Eden's systems to narrow the map to the ones that match what you are looking for.

Activity, Incursions, Faction Warfare

Activity shades the map by system jumps and kills from hourly aggregates, and separate layers show current Incursions and Faction Warfare.

Two layouts of the same universe

The part I would point at first is the layout morph. Every EVE map you have used is one of two things: the schematic diagram CCP publishes for the in-game 2D map, or somebody's rendering of the real coordinates. EO-Map is both, in one 3D scene. Press the toggle and the stars travel between their true physical positions and CCP's schematic positions over 800 ms, keeping their colours, their gates and your camera the whole way. It is the same map either way, so nothing you had selected or planned is lost when you switch.

Compare Universe Scale, in both directions

The two projects share one feature deliberately. Compare Universe Scale draws one universe inside the other at true physical linear scale, using the actual star geometry of both rather than a sphere or a bubble. On EF-Map it renders New Eden inside EVE Frontier; on EO-Map it renders the whole of EVE Frontier around New Eden. Measured along the longest axis, the two universes differ by roughly 143× linear scale. In EF-Map you will find it in the Map Layers flyout, and the same toggle exists on the EO-Map side.

Is EO-Map official?

No. EO-Map is an independent, community-built project, exactly as EF-Map is. It is not made by, endorsed by or affiliated with Fenris Creations, the studio formerly known as CCP Games that develops EVE Online and EVE Frontier. New Eden's layout is derived from the studio's own published static data export, and EO-Map redistributes only transformed metadata for visualisation. EVE Online and all related marks are the property of their owner.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a 3D map of EVE Online?

Yes. EO-Map at eo-map.com renders all 5,485 New Eden solar systems in EVE's true physical 3D layout, in the browser, with no install and no account. It can also morph to CCP's published schematic map layout in the same 3D scene.

Does EF-Map support EVE Online?

No. EF-Map is for EVE Frontier only. EO-Map is the separate EVE Online version of it, covering New Eden, and it lives at eo-map.com.

What can EO-Map do?

It renders the complete New Eden map in true 3D and in CCP's published schematic layout, with an animated morph between the two. On top of that it offers point-to-point route planning with a route systems list, jump range visualisation, a jump planner, a system finder, Activity from hourly system jump and kill aggregates, Incursions, Faction Warfare, and Compare Universe Scale.

Is EO-Map free, and does it need an EVE account?

It is free and it needs no account. There is no EVE SSO login and no character data; it is a static browser map of the universe, not a tool that reads your pilot.

How much bigger is EVE Frontier than New Eden?

Measured along the longest axis with both universes drawn at the same physical scale, EVE Frontier is roughly 143× larger than New Eden in linear terms. That is a linear ratio, not a volume ratio. Compare Universe Scale shows it directly by drawing one universe inside the other using the real star geometry of both.
